JAIL PROGRAM STAFF
Sarah Barnes - Jail Ministry Outreach Director (full-time position)
Ms. Barnes provides personal support and encouragement and secures resources for families of incarcerated persons. She takes referrals from Jail Ministry staff and the staff at all institutions or directly from an inmate's family. She holds one on one visits with family members to assess the family's needs and resources. She then assists the family in problem solving and in seeking and obtaining appropriate services. Sarah's position requires collaboration with a number of community groups in the areas of poverty, criminal justice, and economic justice on behalf of the incarcerated and their families. Sarah also coordinates the annual Toy Project providing toys to over 2000 children of incarcerated parents.
Rev. Matt Weiss - Chaplain, Medium Security Institute (full-time position)
Rev. Weiss provides pastoral care and counseling to residents and staff, teaching God's word and communicating scriptural truths. He conducts worship services and Bible studies, proclaiming God's love in light of the special circumstances in which the residents find themselves. Rev. Weiss celebrates the Lord's Supper with those for whom this is a meaningful sacrament. Additionally, chaplains communicate with attorneys, probation officers, and families on behalf of the residents, advocating justice both within the facility and in the community. Chaplains distribute devotional materials and other Christian literature, teach the basics of the Christian faith and prepare those for Baptism who request it.
Jerome Fields - Ombudsman, St. Louis City Justice Center and Medium Security Institution (full- time position)
As Ombudsman, Jerome Fields is charged with reviewing, investigating, recording and responding to Informal Resident Resolution forms (grievances) received from the Grievance Coordinator, the Director of Public Safety and Mayor's office and from citizens at large. Mr. Fields monitors the total of inmates housed in both institutions, and the total number released; monitors total number of inmates transferred or reassigned to different housing units, number of inmate institutional disciplinary incidents reports; monitors and reviews inmate requests for lay counsel for disciplinary hearings. Mr. Fields provides lay counsel at formal disciplinary hearings to ensure inmate's due process of Division of Corrections administrative policies and procedures are met regarding inmate rights. He makes institutional floor tours to monitor programs and inmate support systems throughout both facilities.
Rev. Vince Stanley - Chaplain, Northview Village Nursing Home & West County Care Center (full-time position) - St. Louis County Jail
Rev. Stanley visits individuals in nursing homes and hospitals, leads worship services and Bible Classes. He develops and recommends programs that are appropriate for the residents. He is an advocate for quality care and fair treatment for both staff and residents. Vince recruits and provides opportunities for service by volunteers from congregations and the community.

Ms. Nicks visits individuals in nursing homes and hospitals, leads worship services and Bible Classes, develops and recommends programs that are appropriate for the residents. Amie is an advocate for quality care and fair treatment for both staff and residents. She recruits and provides opportunities for service by volunteers from congregations and the community.
HOSPITAL PROGRAM STAFF
Rev. Gary Lampe - Chaplain Des Peres Hospital (part-time position)
Rev. Lampe visits with patients, assesses need for spiritual care and provides a support system. He relates to patients, patients' family members, staff and volunteers; makes and receives referrals. Gary works with Hospice interdisciplinary care team members - listens, supports team members in theological, ethical, spiritual and emotional matters; provides consultation for spiritual care, and consults with the bereavement coordinator. Rev. Lampe visits patients and families on request (in homes); assists with annual memorial service. He provides and distributes Bibles and devotional literature; carries a pager and responds to emergencies.
