LMA - Youth Initiative "Let's Connect"
"Let's Connect" is a new ministry of LMA. In Matthew 25:40 Jesus says, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least important of these brothers of mine you did for me." Let's Connect creates opportunities for youth to learn and serve in their local community to answer this call.
Through a series of overnight experiences called Modules, confirmation aged youth build relationships, deepen their understanding of need, and participate in local service projects. Topics for the Modules include: Homelessness, poverty, diversity, confinement/imprisonment, aging and young parenting. The project culminates with a Youth Summit. The Summit is a one day event held locally where participants can reflect on their experience, share experiences and celebrate together.
This project is made possible through the work of Lutheran Ministry Association, Good Samaritan Center for the Homeless and Friend of Moms, and a generous grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
